Car Cleaning Tips

clean carYou should always start with the driver’s side area first. There is a good chance that the drivers side area will dry first. This is good for when the customer is ready to take possession of the car.

New Car Washing Tip

utah car detailingSo you got your bucket, soap, and towels ready. What next?
Start with spraying your car with water. Thoroughly soak the car so the water can remove mud and dirt. You will want to spray from the bottom, and work your way up.

Washing lower half of vehicle

washing running boardsWhile washing your car, you want to pay special attention to the bottom half of your car. Running boards and bumpers collect a lot more bugs, dirt and mud then other parts of the vehicle. Another part of the car that seems to get missed a lot is the roof!

Snow In April

Road SaltI can’t remember the last time Utah received this much snow in April. Brighton ski resort got over 30 inches between last night and today. My legs are going to be dead the next few days from a long day of skiing.
Usually about this time of year, I am getting excited to be able to wash my car in my flip flops in my driveway. Instead, I am still worried about the road salt from all the snow. During the winter, I try and wash my car at least twice a week. This helps keep the salt off my car.

Wash you Car With Clean Water

I know this sounds obvious, but people do this more than you would think! Make sure to rinse out the bucket and rinse off the items you will be using to wash your car.
It happens all the time. You get done washing your car, and just throw the supplies back into your garage. The next time you are going to wash your car, you start filling up the bucket and throw the sponge/mitt into the bucket to soak. You pick up the scrubber, and before you realize it, your scrubber is scrubbing dirt and grime back into your car’s finish.

When should I wash my car?

Utah car detailingDo not wait until you have bird droppings, dead bugs, or mud. By the time all these things have dried up onto your paint, they have already started to strip away the wax and in the end will eat your cars paint.
Wash your car before it gets to this point! Besides, the more you wash, the less time it takes each time.

After you are done rinsing your car, take the nozzle off the hose. The free flowing water will sheet most of the water off the vehicle. This will help you dry your car in half the time it normally does!

Nissan GT-R

Nissan GTRI wasn’t sure about the Nissan GT-R when I first heard about it. Sure it was fast, but was it really worth the money? After seeing a few of these cruising around my town, I have decided they are in my top 5 favorite cars. I love the look they have, and you get what you pay for. If I am lucky and can someday afford a Nissan GT-R, I will make sure I wash and detail it often. This car is very likely to become a collectors item, and hold its value very well. So it is very important to keep this car clean!
